View Full Version : Sea craft 32 or Contender 31?
I am looking for an offshore boat in the 30-32' range. I have narrowed it down to the seacraft and the contender. I think I like the Seacraft a little better. Does anyone know the pros and cons of each of these boats and which one I should consider going with?
Look at the 32 Regulator. Great boat-

I own a seacraft 20 and all I can say is that it's tough as nails. 10 years old, meticulously maintained. The boat, however is a bit heavier than most and has quite a V, which requires a little bit extra horsepower, but you'll probably need this toughness for offshore. I'd say either SeaCraft or Grady.

I am partial to Sea Crafts myself but I think either boat would do the job for you. One of the big reasons I would recommend the Sea Craft is the bottom. The Contender is running a deep v and will run good but will be a little rocky when you slow it down. The Sea Craft has the variable degree deadrise and should provide a little more stable platfrom at rest. Your best bet is to run them both though and make a decision based on your personal feel for the boats. Good luck and let us know what your decision is.
