I Just got back in town. I left Wed morning at 2:30am and got back fri nite at 10:30PM So thats 44 Hours round trip to Virginia not bad
Eds Marine is an excellent dealer. I got there on Wed about an hour before they closed A mechanic was installing the prop and tank testing the motor while two guys were feverishly detailing my boat.
All the paperwork was in order and it didnt take long. My insurance agent had faxed down the binder and They had it taken care of and faxed back to Kennebunk. Boat was exactly what I had ordered Is there anything better than a new Boat with a new motor and a stainless prop.
I picked up the next morning at about 930 and I was on my way by ten.
It cost me about 3.5 tanks of gas $200 and about $90 in tolls what is this country coming to. Jersey and Maryland were the worst. Some heavy traffic in New york at the GW bridge and in Connecticut.
A friend of mine loaned me his wifes Garmin "soccer mom" GPS and it was killer took all the driving stress out of the picture.
I paid $18,500 for the boat and about 400 in travel expenses. I found the same boat around here in stock one price was 22,600 and 26,500 from two different dealers on in Mass and one in NH??

I would highly recomend Eds Marine they over 30 boats inside there showroom and another 200 or so outside I really liked the professional effort and no bull**** sales and pricing. Now I just got to rig it and figure out where to keep it

Good Luck

Sea Hunt Triton 186-Raw water washdown-bimini-top-guage package upgrade
Yamaha F115 Stainless Prop
Road king Galanized Trailer single axle 2800 # capacity
My only dissapointment is the god fore-saken flip flop cooler seat behind the console It will be removed shortly and replaced with a Rocket launcher type leaning post

Take your time getting the leaning post, and be prepared to pay. leaning post, foot rest, backrest, rocket launchers, cooler and install.....can be anywhere from $1000-2000.

In hindsite it may have been wiser to have ordered. Make sure you get the footrest-seriously!

However-you have a very decent boat that your are indeed excited about. My buddy did the same road trip from Portsmouth NH to Eds marine- he figures he saved close to 6-8000 on his boat.He had ordered his boat ahead of time and like you went down and picked it up & drove home.

MGM..good luck with your new ride, I'm sure your chomping at the bit for some good weather. Take your time with the leaning post and stuff...that cooler..is a great storage place for life vests..if its one of those big ones. Take her out a few times..and see what you need after you have your gear etc on there.

Best of luck MGM

It really wasnt a risk They held the boat and did all the paperwork with a little deposit and Everybodt I met was extremly nice and professional.
I found several basic leaning posts on ebay for under & 300 including shipping???
Doesnt have to be a custom birdsall just functional with a clean cushion??

I need to come up with a new name Im getting tired of On The Fly I was thinking about "TRAILER TRASH"

agreed with the ebay leaning posts. i just got one off ebay for $400 plus shipping and for the most part it is exactly what i wanted, minus one blemish from shipping we're in the process of resolving. 4 rod holders, removable backrest, folding footrest, can't go wrong for $400. Most of the guys on ebay are willing to customize for you too.
