Anyone tried the SeaSucker horizontal rod holder (http://www.seasucker.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=12&idproduct=126)? I recently bought a McKee Marathon 184 and the one shortcoming of the boat is lack of horizontal rod storage.

Those look cool but EGAD they're pricey, no?! Do they screw into the gunwale or are they suction cupped on? If they're not permanently mounted, don't you think they might "walk" at the marina?

I tried these from coldtuna.com, and was not happy with them - too small and too brittle. I'll be replacing them before the next season:

I'm thinking of just going with the conventional fiberglass or poly ones:

Yeah, they're expensive. Most of the cost is in the mechanical vacuum cups, which are about $50 each. They'll be used on a trailered boat, not too worried about them growing legs.
