Edit: Just to add ... I've just learned that these models use the DSC coding for emergencies only and you CANNOT use these radios to send your position back and forth between you and your fishing friends ...
Man, I've seen blow-out sales before ... but a top name DSC-equipped marine VHF for $70?

Run, Forrest, run ... to your nearest Boater's World store. I'm also told they will order one from their main warehouse of the store you go to is out of them.
This NOT an on-line buy ...

Hi Dale,
I called Icom ... because I'm new to the DSC code thing.
From what I understood these units can be used to share location, but these are input only from the gps unit. So you would see the lat & long of your buddy on the screen of the radio, but it's not capable of transmitting that to your plotter.
They also confirmed that $70 was a real good deal.
Thanks again.

I checked the on-line PDF manual for this unit and you one get the DS'C' part of of the coded sentence, and not the DS'E' part, so only the degree and minutes are displayed as 2-sigits each. Example, 70' 42" , that puts you in the ballpark only ...
Again though, good buy for someone who didn't have one or needed a fixed VHF on the cheap.
