How deep is the water you fish?

Most of the time it is 50 or less but would like to have option of deeper for cod haddock

I went round and round on this same subject all winter. I finally bought a Garmin 340c off of the net for $400, with the dual beam ducer so I could get a bigger cone angle. Allthough my research says I made the best decision, I can`t confirm cause of this damned weather, I should have been into Bass for 3 weeks now. Give some serious thought to the ducer you get. The Dual Freq has a much smaller cone and at 50 ft will only show a 7.5 ft piece of the bottom, where a dual beam will show a 37.5 ft picture. The depth penetration of the two seems negligable 1900 opposed to 1500 ft. Send a PM if you want the name of the company that had the cheapest prices around.
