Well I've been through about 500 gallons of e-10. Everything seemed fine and I figured after that much fuel I was looking good. NOT, That **** ate my fuel pump fortunatley my mechanic was using the boat while I was at Fenway. He diagnosed the problem and a new pump is in the works. This was a 2004 Yamaha 4-stroke 225. Funny thing is it happened to several other commercial operators I know of at the same time. Here's a heads up to all the problems that may be slow to develop. A big thanks to government mandates. Time for a revolution!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken,
Is that the original fuel pump?

That's not good! I have a F225 and now I'm concerned. Did it just die on the water?
I hear some OB MFG's are not going to honor warranty claims due to damage caused by E10. It could get ugly.

The correct situation, as far as I know it, is that no OB mfg'r will replacement any part under warranty if the motor was subject to > 10% ethanol fuel, as is rampant in some parts of FL as you read this. Some OBs have "burned thru" 5 or more fuel pumps ...

Original pump. A surprise to me and the dealer that it went. I know of others with 2-3000hrs on the same pump. These are daily operators who stack up hours under your more extreme conditions. I'm out of warranty as its a commercial motor

Good news:New pumps going in tonight.
Bad news:New pump in another boat lasted for 12 Hrs this weekend. So what the ****! I guess I'll keep an extra on the boat so I can change it out on the water.
I can hear it now "I hope we clear the rip so I can cange the fuel pump on the otherside"

Unfortunatly not. ;) It's gonna be interesting to do this on the water but if in dire straits it will be done.
Thats what kids are for, sit in the back and pump the bulb all the way home!
