I have an 18' Wellcraft CC that I'm selling; I don't want to tow it back & forth between Vermont and the Cape with a 6Cyl truck. I'd like experienced opinion on whether my 16 ft Lund Rebel is up to the task at Monomoy,Chatham, etc. if I'm reasonable about tracking the weather. Or, do I have to end up somewhere in the middle with Lund Alaskan 18 or equivalent?

I had a 16' lund SS I used it in Barnstable Harbor and the vineyard sound. The person that bought the boat from me continued to use it in a variety of similar areas. It was flat bottomed so it would pound in a chop. It was easy towing and economical on fuel. On good days I had no problems taking over to Martha's vineyard. I was hard pressed to find a day I could not use it in Barnstable. Would the 18' be better? Yes no doubt. Could you make do if keeping a close eye to the weather absolutely. The way monomoy is going a boat the can get through skinny water is sounding very desireable.
