My livewell/raw water pump is not pumping water. I can hear the motor running but no water is moving. Thoughts?

Impeller stuck, happened to me once tapped it lightly with a open end wrench and it started pumping right away.

make sure the line is clear. raw water intakes often have a wire/mesh filter that can get clogged up with small stones/salt deposits, make sure that it is clear.

Everyone's suggestions are great. What you may have is an impeller that's come free of the shaft... You can check by snapping the pump free of its base then turning it on. If the motor turns but the impeller doesn't, that's your problem. I've also had them work intermittently where the impeller turns but occasionally lets the shaft spin free. At the first sign of that problem get a new pump. If it's only an air lock that impeller will spin from the moment power is applied. I think they're only press fitted on the shaft so eventually they'll work loose, particularly if you've gotten debris past the strainer that the impeller rubs on.
