Trim tab question

Trim tabs on the boat are no longer functioning properly. I have an issue with the main control, the backing has pulled away and I believe I am not making contact to operate. I will be going own this weekend and trouble shoot the issue. Since this is the first time working on them any advice would be appreciated. What should I look for and tools that will be needed. Thanks for any help.

You didn't say if your trim tabs are by Bennett. If they are, phone them directly for technical support. You'll be amazed and delighted with the level of support they'll provide.... Their service support is the best I've seen in the marine industry.
