Changing Spin On FW filter question...

Guys,

When changing a spin on FW filter, do I need to put a little gas into the top of the filter before installing or can I spin it on "dry."

Any other tips for this? Volvo 5.0 Fuel injected IO.

Ran awesome this weekend but I stored with about 15 gals in an 80 gal tank. Worried about condensation though I have since filled up with fresh high test.

I would put a film of oil on the gasket to make sure it will come off at the next change.

I always fill mine with gas before I put on a new filter. The boat is in the garage & the gas can for the lawn mower is right there so its easy then I dont have to pump the ball 300 times to pressurise the fuel systm. I have the big Racor fuel separator with the clear bowl at the bottom & it holds quite a bit of fuel. If you have a fuel pump I would think you wouldnt need to pre fill it?
