on my center console and I can't get the gas to the motor. I also put a new gas/water separator between the outlet nipple at the transom and the motor, put the bulb between the nipple and the inlet on the separator, then ran the other line from the outlet of the separator to the motor plug, but I can't get the fuel to flow. All the "arrows" are going in the right direction, what am I doing wrong, or what am I not doing?

It sounds like a you've got a blocked or pinched line. I'd start by making sure that I can get gas out of the tank at all. Take off the first nipple/connector your find, and replace it with the bulb. Pump it and see if you can get any gas. If you get gas, move down the line to the next fitting and do the same. If you don't get gas, you'll know the problem is just upstream.
Gas problems really stink. Is this an old tank with new lines? If so, you'll probably find that you've got a bunch of varnish clogging the screen in the top outlet at the tank. Pull the nipple off and theres a small cone shaped screen inside. If it's coated with amber colored bits, that's varnish from bad gas. In that case, you'll need to drain the tank.
You're going to need to do some diagnosing to figure it out, but you should be able to do this.
Best of luck,
Mark

Thanks for your advice Mark, I'll give that a try...I know there is "air" in the line because I get a squirt when disconnecting the motor plug, but I'll try back to the tank and work backward from there. It's a plastic, 55 gal, permanent installation, but in the 6 years I've had the boat, I never checked beyond the filter under the engine cover. Thanks again
