I have flirting with the idea of placing glide slicks on my trailer bunks and I was wondering if anyone has tried them and if they would recommend using them or staying away from them.

The boat that I have is a 19' CC that has a pretty decent deep V on it.

My biggest concern is do the slicks cause any damage to the boat?

Any comments/recommendations would be appreciated.

I considered the slicks also, but when I was told that they can scratch I backed off. Looking at them, it seems installation is the key, the only place I
can see where it would scratch the hull is at each end if not tucked down into the carpet properly. Guys I asked all say they work well.

I use regular carpeted bunks for my 3100# boat. Never had a problem winching up as long as the bunks are wet.
Also, I would guess the boat can slide OFF as well as ON. (like if you are alone and motor up onto the trailer and then get out to attach the winch cable) JMHO.
Carpeted bunks are great if you store your boat on the trailer all winter.
Good luck!

Jim/Sage, at a shallow/skinney water boat ramp is really where I've heard that the slicks are a big help on the bunk type trailers.
