I have a 21' cc with a 50 gal moeller tank below the deck. I have a fuel leak around the sender. I was told by someone who did some work on the boat that the metal threaded inserts in the tank for the sender mounting bolts have small cracks around them. He tried to epoxy up the cracks and reassemble, but the repair did not last very long. I assume that the epoxy did not adhere to the flexible tank very well, and the fuel vpor couldn't have done very good things to the epoxy either.
I was thinking about trying to seal up the area with some fuel resistant flexible RTV I found at an autoparts store. Does anyone elese have any suggestions? I would like to aviod having to remove the tank if possible.

thanks.

I believe "Marine-tex" is fuel proof. It doesn't stay flexible though. We've used it to patch a tank and had good luck
