140 HP Suzuki 4-Stroke

Any one own one of these 4-strokes or have an educated opinion??? I'm in the market for a new motor and after talking with several dealers on Yamaha's & Merc 2-strokes and Suzuki's 4-stroke I'm leaning towards the 4-stroke. Not much difference in weight or price, much quieter, lots of trolling with the kids so the plugs don't foul, and a 6 yr waranntee. Sounds too good to be true. I would appreciate your comments. Hope to make a purchase in the next couple of weeks.

I think you will find that most people are happy with their Suzuki 4-stroke engines.

The free 3+3 extended warranty offer ends on Monday, however, so you need to act fast.

You might also consider the new for 2003 Johnson 140 4 stroke, which is just the Suzuki engine painted white.

Well, I did it. I knew the 3 yr extended warrantee was about to end so I bought a 140 4-stoke Suzuki today. I really wanted to buy a whole new outfit but I couldn't afford it at this time. I hope I can upgrade from the 18 ft to a 21-22 ft in a couple years and transfer the motor to the new boat. The 4-stroke was similar weight and cost to the Merc 2-stroke that I was considering. Looking forward to getting it in the water. Hope I made the right decision.
