I have a question about purchasing a used outboard motor. I have a 17 ft aluminum boat that needs a new motor 60 or 70 HP. I am finding that alot of dealers have 1985..88 older motors that have been fully looked over new water pump... good compression for considerably less than new around 1500.00. . What do you thik the longevity of an older motor like this would be if taken care of, or would i most like have alot of headache with it. I would be happy with 5 years of use. :cool: :(
