Bombardier has finally released infor on their new motors.
Here is a link to their page.Evinrude's E-tec (http://www.evinrude.com/evinrude/e-tec/)
If anyone goes to the boatshow and sees the new motors could you give us your impressions.
Bob,
I asked my son to check it out at the Miami boat show! If they have brochures he will send me a copy. My local Evinrude dealer is a fishing buddy and has been to school on the new engines. He says we will be amazed when we see them perform. The press release looks really good! i can't wait until I can get intothe specs and performance stuff!
Enjoy the Blizzard! 29 days to St. Paddy's Day!
God Bless all in this house! :-%

I've been using nothing but Johnson or Evinrude for about 25 years now and finally got on the new Bombardier guide program this past year. I'm running a 2003 115hp Evinrude on a 17' custom rigged Maverick and love it. We mounted in August and as of today it's burned more than 200 hours without the slightest problem.
Since I'm on their guide program I have an incentive to say good things, but I would have one of these no matter what it cost. Most of the press these days touts four stroke motors and they have their place. The new Evinrudes meet all of the emission standards now for 2006, get as good mileage, and have a better horsepower to weight ratio than four strokes... The weight issue alone is significant for small poling skiffs. The best part of the deal is a three year warranty, something that I've never had before... Can't say enough good things about them.

Hey Bob, I would be interested in hearing a little about their Guide program. I have heard of Yamaha as beinglike 10% and no warrantee which seems pointless to me. I just bought a new Steiger 21" with no motor and was thinking of a johnson 140 4 stroke since I can get a pretty good deal with 4 year warrantee. this will be boat #2 for my Guide buisness here in NY, but was eyeing a 175 Evinrude but saw the price at almost $3000 more than the 140. email would be great if you could spare the time, as I wouldn't really know where to start about getting on the program (if it was practical for me)
thanks
